Welcome to NOBCChE

We appreciate your interest in NOBCChE. Our chapter was chartered in 2004 by Dr Angela McIver, Ph.D. , Chemical & Biochemical Engineering, University of Iowa, Dr Tonya L Peeples, August 2008. Since its inception, Dr Peeples has served as advisor who now shares this role with Dr Daniel Quinn of the Department of Chemistry. The students and professionals of our chapter enjoy enlightening and encouraging precollege youth in their understanding of STEM (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) fields through workshops and in-house demonstrations. Undergraduates and graduates of diverse backgrounds are welcomed with open arms and given a sense of family and academic support through game nights, ice cream socials and academic assistance.

NOBCChE is committed to the discovery, transmittal, and application of knowledge in the fields of science and engineering. The mission of NOBCChE is to build an eminent community of scientists and engineers by increasing the number of minorities in these fields. NOBCChE will achieve its mission through diverse programs designed to foster professional development and encourage students to pursue careers in science and technical fields.
